New Year’s Resolution.

Happy (almost) 2012! With another year almost behind us, I start to contemplate the next year. I’m not usually one for New Year’s resolutions but I appreciate any attempt people make to better themselves. And really, a totally new year presents the perfect blank slate.

Recently, someone (a few years older than myself) said something that keeps ringing in my head. She said “I hope you appreciate how you look now because one day you’ll look back and finally realize that you’re beautiful”. This got me thinking, I spend so much time worrying about my weight, how clean my house is, how organized the bills are, and so on, that I fear I am missing some amazing moments.

My resolution for 2012 is to stop and appreciate. To stop looking at what could be better, what needs to change and appreciate what I have because really, it’s amazing.

Happy 2012! Make it a great year!

The First Post.

Sometimes I wonder about my life. I lead a small life - well, valuable, but small - and sometimes I wonder, do I do it because I like it, or because I haven't been brave? So much of what I see reminds me of something I read in a book, when shouldn't it be the other way around? I don't really want an answer. I just want to send this cosmic question out into the void. So good night, dear void.

-You’ve Got Mail

I often think of this quote from You’ve Got Mail and I wonder if the little things I do everyday make a difference, if they mean something, if there is any chance my “small life” can make an impact.

I have decided to believe it can (though I will never know for certain). So I came to the conclusion that my thoughts, daily life, lessons, mistakes and all the random tidbits in between deserve a space.

Per the name of my blog, I recently did say “yes” and I have this feeling I’m on the verge of a fabulous adventure. I’m excited to share this adventure with anyone who cares to read but most importantly, I’m excited to have a place to catalog a life worth living.

Stay tuned!
